College baseball: Mississippi State, Southern Miss see seasons end in regional round
SUMMARY: Mississippi State and Southern Miss baseball teams concluded their seasons in the regional round of the NCAA Tournament. Mississippi State fell to Virginia 9-2 after a strong start, marked by a two-run homer from Dakota Jordan. Despite pitcher Pico Kahn's solid performance, Virginia's six-run rally in the ninth inning sealed the Bulldogs' fate. This marks Mississippi State's return to the postseason since their 2021 national title. Southern Miss, after dominating Indiana 15-3, needed consecutive wins over Tennessee but lost 12-3. Despite taking an early lead, Tennessee's four home runs secured their victory. This is the second consecutive year Tennessee ended Southern Miss's season.
