SUMMARY: During Thanksgiving week, Harrison County law enforcement teams up with volunteers to provide meals for those in need. This marks the 35th year of the “Feed the Needy” initiative, led by retired Sheriff’s Department employee Jimmy Johnson. Starting with just a few hundred meals, it now serves 1,500 to 2,000 meals annually. The event is a collaboration of all law enforcement agencies across the coast, with meals packaged at the Lyman Community Center. Volunteers of all ages participate, building relationships and offering companionship alongside food. Over the years, around 95,000 meals have been served. Christmas meal requests and volunteer opportunities are also available.

On Thursday, law enforcement in Harrison County will team up once again with hundreds of volunteers to make sure those in need have a happy Thanksgiving.

The sinking took about 15 minutes, with the metal structure descending uniquely due to a welded top. Situated 20 miles offshore at 100 feet deep, it will attract fish and divers alike. For more details on this and other reefs, visit wlox.com.

The reef is located 20 miles off the coastline about 100 feet down, making it only visible to divers and marine life. For more Local …
