Coast Life: Distillery bottles special Cruisin’ the Coast bourbon
SUMMARY: In October, Cruisin’ the Coast celebrates coastal life, with a unique twist thanks to a Mississippi distillery offering a bourbon called Cron’s Cut Above. This is the state‘s only bourbon distillery, where all aspects of production take place on-site. Distillery founder Kinton, a former accountant and lawyer, honors his community’s legacy through his bourbon. During the event, they launched a limited-release Bourbon, the Cruisin’ Coast Classic series, featuring a Mustang honoring enthusiast Jerry Todd, who survived a near-fatal incident during the event in 2021. Each year, a new car will be featured on the bottles, fostering community connections.
The special release bourbon is the start of a new Cruisin’ tradition.

SUMMARY: A giant cockroach Reef, created by Bay Pest Control DMR and the Mississippi Gulf Fishing Banks, has attracted attention on Highway 90 as it sits temporarily at Schooner Pier. While some families enjoy lunch or fishing nearby, they express surprise and admiration for the massive sculpture made from scrap metal. The Reef, intended to boost local fish populations by creating new ecosystems, will be submerged 70 to 100 feet deep about 20 miles offshore in the coming weeks, depending on weather conditions. Before its sinking, visitors have a week to observe this unique piece of art.
The reef rests along Highway 90 for those enjoying Cruisin’ the Coast to indulge themselves in the most common pest in the state.
