CMSD Board looks at list of repair, reno priorities

SUMMARY: The Columbus School Board is working with architects to prioritize renovation and repair needs for district campuses. The price tag for the work is currently estimated at over $60 million, which is higher than the board’s desired range of $30-35 million. They are considering floating a bond to cover the costs, with the hope of keeping the debt payment within the current budget. The board has reached a rough estimate of $38 million, still higher than their target. Superintendent Dr. Stanley Ellis is confident that they can refine the number and move forward with sharing the needs with the community.
