Clinton drive-by and house fire connected to Jackson homicide
SUMMARY: Clinton Police have increased neighborhood patrols after an apparent retaliation following a recent murder in Jackson. State Fire Marshal investigators examined a Clinton house that may have been intentionally set on fire as retribution. A witness reported seeing two males pouring an accelerant around the house's perimeter before attempting to ignite it. Earlier that same day, Clinton Police responded to shots fired at the same house. Authorities connected this drive-by shooting to Juan Taylor's shooting death in Jackson. Suspect Jeremiah Hampton is still at large, believed to be driving a 2021 black Nissan Altima with a Texas license plate.
