Clay County deputies make another arrest in UTV theft

SUMMARY: Law enforcement in Clay County, Mississippi, arrested Diquavious Henderson and Ly’Zahvion Lenoir in connection with the theft of two UTVs. Henderson faces charges including burglary, tampering with evidence, and motor vehicle theft, and was denied bond. He also has a felony false pretense indictment. Lenoir is charged with motor vehicle theft and burglary. During a traffic stop, deputies found keys to the stolen UTVs on the suspects. Last week, investigators discovered the UTVs hidden in woods behind Adventure ATV. Surveillance footage shows the thieves damaging the building. Additional arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

Mississippi IHL Trustee Jeanne Carter Luckey dies

SUMMARY: Jeanne Carter Luckey, a trustee of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL), passed away on November 7, 2024. Dr. Al Rankins, Jr., commissioner of higher education, praised her energy and commitment to Mississippi’s public university system, noting her dedication will benefit future students. Appointed in May 2018 by former Governor Phil Bryant, Luckey served as vice president and chaired the ADA/Accessibility Services Task Force. She earned degrees in special education from the University of Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi. Luckey is survived by her husband, Alwyn, and their two daughters.

Appeals Court affirms conviction of former McComb art school leader
