The partnership aims to share more information about available resources for victims and offenders. The Hattiesburg Municipal Court Clerk, Phillip McSwain Jr, noticed an increase in domestic violence cases during the pandemic, which led to the creation of a separate domestic violence court. The Forrest County District Attorney and Assistant District Attorney Becky Denham emphasize the importance of holding offenders accountable and supporting victims through counseling and intervention programs. They encourage victims to seek help and forgive but not reconcile with abusers. The content also mentions other partners in the area, such as the Kids Hub Child Advocacy Center and the Center for Violence Prevention in Jackson.
