CIRCUIT CLERK;S OFFICE ACCESS
SUMMARY: The Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk’s Office remains in the Old Courthouse due to public access issues at the new location. Circuit Clerk Donal Johnson stated that public access is crucial for operations involving marriage licenses, photo registration, and absentee voting, all of which are located on the first floor. Currently, there is no proper door for public access, only T-windows that cannot accommodate larger items like clipboards. A door will be installed to resolve this issue, but Johnson confirmed that the office will not move until after the 2024 election.
