Truck carrying 40,000 pounds of cheese overturned on I-22

Local winners announced for state omelet cook-off

SUMMARY: Two local kids earned recognition at this year’s Fair omelette cook-off. Emaline Swindle, a fourth-grader from Yellow Busher County, took second place with her cheesy chicken chili omelette. Emily Hay from Owa County secured third place for her “Take Me to Flavor Town” omelette and also won the top prize for best beef omelette. Both young chefs were awarded cash prizes, along with an apron, omelette pan, whisk, and spatula, celebrating their culinary talents and creativity.

The winners were announced for the state omelet cook-off.
