Christian organization helping western NC in Hurricane Helene relief

This makes it the second-largest employees’ association in the state, but 63% smaller than a decade ago. The audit, released by Democrat Jessica Holmes, follows previous scrutiny of NCAE’s membership, which has varied over the years. North Carolina lacks a formal teachers’ union, although the NCAE is affiliated with the National Education Association. The state’s education budget exceeds half of its total budget, with public school enrollment at over 1.5 million and 101,775 teachers reported for the 2023-24 school year.
