Chances increase for tropical development in Gulf

SUMMARY: A wave from Africa could pose problems in the Atlantic next week, while the has a developing situation that could to a tropical storm, with a 40% of tropical . This storm could drift toward Texas and Louisiana. Although ocean temperatures are record-high, factors like wind shear and sinking have hindered hurricane activity. As of now, the season has seen five named storms and may face an uptick in activity by September’s end. Several days of rain are expected across like Daytona, with no severe weather threats noted. Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s to near 90.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking potential tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico, and conditions are starting to look more favorable. A moderate chance exists for a system to form early to mid-next week, as two tropical waves are expected to combine, possibly completing one or two loops.

A witness reported seeing a fleeing after abandoning an AK-47 rifle, which was discovered in nearby bushes, along with two backpacks and a GoPro. The suspect was apprehended after nearby law enforcement identified and stopped his vehicle.
