Chancery Court Judge Joseph Kilgore leaving public office
SUMMARY: Chancellor Joseph Kilgore, a Chancery Court Judge in Mississippi, will leave his position on July 31 to join a Jackson law firm. Kilgore, a Philadelphia native, was first appointed by former Governor Haley Barbour in July 2010 and has been re-elected without opposition four times to serve the Sixth District, which includes several counties. Updates released in Noxubee County shooting case
SUMMARY: Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun identified Breanna Alexus Franklin of Macon as the victim of an early morning shooting on Pearl Street. The incident occurred after 2 a.m. when a vehicle fired a shot through the passenger side window of her car, resulting in her death at the scene. Ciara Sharda Latham is charged with aggravated domestic violence and murder. The Macon Police Department, assisted by Columbus PD and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, is conducting the ongoing investigation. Oktibbeha county gets five new fire trucks for the county

Homeless Coalition finds ways to help with heat safety
