SUMMARY: A mother, who previously advocated against gun violence, is facing charges after her two-year-old son was shot in the leg while she was in another room. On March 6th, police were alerted by a local hospital about the injury. Initially claiming a drive-by shooting, the investigation revealed that the mother, Campbell, and another suspect, Rodrick Miller, were cleaning a firearm in her home before leaving it unattended. After the shooting, they attempted to hide the gun in the woods. Campbell’s past includes losing another child to gun violence, making this incident even more tragic for her.

SUMMARY: Missouri’s Attorney General Andrew Bailey is threatening to seize $24.5 billion in Chinese assets nationwide following a court ruling that favored the state, alleging China hoarded protective equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic. China has dismissed the lawsuit as absurd and declared it won’t recognize U.S. jurisdiction over such claims. Experts criticize Bailey’s assertions, predicting legal challenges and complications in U.S.-China relations. They argue the actual chances of collecting any damages are slim, especially since Chinese government entities may not own seizable assets in Missouri. China has warned that it may retaliate against U.S. companies.
