Celebrations held for Biggersville boys, girls following victories in Jackson

A State Championship celebration was held for the Biggersville boys basketball team, and a post-season celebration was held for the girls basketball team in Corinth on Sunday.

Man killed when asphalt dumped onto him
SUMMARY: A horrific accident occurred Monday morning when 41-year-old Darrell Sheriff died after being buried under a truckload of hot asphalt at AJ Materials in Jackson. According to JPD Chief Joseph Wade, the incident happened when the work truck malfunctioned while Sheriff was loading asphalt, causing it to unload and bury him. Chief Wade expressed condolences to the victim’s traumatized family, describing Sheriff as a good, hardworking family man.
