Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day
SUMMARY: Teachers in the Harrison County School District and along the coast are being celebrated on Teacher Appreciation Day with goodies and celebrations. The goal is to recognize educators who make a difference in their students’ lives. The most rewarding part for teachers is seeing students have that “aha” moment when they finally understand a concept. Teacher Appreciation Week is also being recognized this week, showing gratitude for the hard work and dedication of teachers. The event highlights the impact educators have on their students and the difference they make in the classroom.
SUMMARY: During Carnival season, local bakers Rebecca Odo and Renee Laurer discuss their king cakes and an upcoming community event on the 23rd, benefiting Fishing Ministries and a local food pantry. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods or monetary donations. The event will feature around 12 participants and expects approximately 200 people, offering a chance to taste and vote for favorite cakes in a People’s Choice Award format. Sugar Pop Bakery is set to bring several varieties, including traditional and filled options, showcasing their popular cinnamon cream cheese and strawberry cream cheese cakes.
