SUMMARY: The forthcoming travel plaza developed by the Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise in Winston County has been officially named “Crystal Sky.” The name was inspired by the local Crystal Ridge community. Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben expressed enthusiasm for the project, saying it extends beyond a building to fostering community connections and honoring the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The 18,000-square-foot facility will feature 150 slot machines, a sportsbook lounge, retail space, a restaurant, and fueling stations, operating 24/7. Dachelle E. from Louisville won $500 for suggesting the winning name among 260 entries. The $25 million development will create around 100 jobs and is set to open this summer.
