1 dead, 1 hurt in shooting at Melbourne park, police say
SUMMARY: Melbourne police are investigating a shooting at the Eddy Lee Taylor Park Community Center, where one person died and another is hospitalized in critical condition. The incident occurred around 7:00 PM during a gathering related to a recent funeral. Evidence markers at the scene indicate significant activity, with witnesses reporting seeing one person shot in the back. Earlier, another shooting happened about half a mile away, where a suspect shot a man in a driveway. Authorities are exploring possible connections between the two incidents, and a suspect remains at large. Police urge anyone with information to reach out.
A shooting Saturday night at Eddie Lee Taylor Park in Melbourne left one man dead and another man in critical condition, according to the police. At 7:24 p.m., gunshots were heard near the entrance of the park, which sent both crowds running in all directions, police said. Two adult men had been shot, police said. One man was transported to the hospital via car. That man was last listed in critical condition. Police said a second person was found shot in the parking lot. He was transported to the hospital, where he died. His name was not released.

Florida parents raise awareness for childhood cancer after losing 10-year-old son

Firefighter injured after Miami Gardens storage facility blaze
