Canton community mourns teacher killed by suspected drunk driver

The crash occurred on Interstate 55 near Gluckstadt. The suspected driver, Jordan Leah Sullivan, has been charged with aggravated DUI and remains in the hospital. Small-Jackson, who worked at the school for over ten years and was named Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024, was highly regarded by her colleagues and students. The Canton Public School District praised her for her dedicated service and positive influence.
