SUMMARY: Camp Shelby is bustling with both military training and extensive construction projects aimed at improving various facilities. Currently, over $140 million worth of projects are either funded or underway, supported by the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and Mississippi State funding. Key initiatives include expanding the Maneuver Area Training Equipment Site to handle newer military vehicles and consolidating multiple maintenance shops. Additionally, a $30 million investment is being made to upgrade communication infrastructure, $10 million on barracks improvements, and $700,000 for new helicopter landing pads. A $47 million microgrid project is also set to begin, enhancing the post’s electric power generation.
