Caddo Parish Commission punts on Fairgrounds Field renovation resolution | Louisiana
SUMMARY: The Caddo Parish Commission has decided not to support a resolution for the renovation of Shreveport’s Fairgrounds Field, a former minor league baseball stadium, and is instead evaluating the situation further. The stadium, built in 1986 and last renovated in 2011, is set for demolition. Although the commission acknowledged the need for renovations, they opted to send the matter to a planning committee for additional review. Meanwhile, discussions regarding donating deteriorating properties to organizations for rehabilitation were introduced, with one group, Friends of Friends, Inc., planning to create day centers for elderly and children, subject to a five-year completion requirement.

Thursday 10pm Tropical Update: TS Sara likely to dissipate this weekend
SUMMARY: Out of the 11 named storms this season, 11 have become hurricanes, but Tropical Storm Sara is not expected to strengthen much further. It will mainly bring heavy rain to Central America, particularly Honduras, and then move toward Belize and the Yucatan. Due to its proximity to land, further intensification is unlikely, though a brief window for strengthening exists if it moves away from the coast. The storm is expected to dissipate by Sunday, with no Gulf of Mexico impact, though its remnants may affect forecasts later next week.
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says Tropical Storm Sara likely to dissipate this weekend on Sunday as it starts to move into the Yucatán.
