Businesses review how AI could help them day-to-day

Both Kelly Martin of the Mon County Chamber of Commerce and Tina Robbins from the Aberdine Visitors Bureau discussed practical applications like creating itineraries and drafting social media captions. While there are concerns about job replacement, AI is largely seen as a productivity-enhancing tool.

SUMMARY: A significant software glitch is disrupting Mississippi’s driver license bureaus, with operations expected to resume by the week’s end. The Department of Public Safety revealed that a routine update from a third-party vendor caused the issues, resulting in 2 to 3-hour wait times at various offices. Currently, only limited services, such as gun permits and ID cards, are being offered. Commissioner Tindle addressed accountability and future contracts with the vendor to prevent recurrence. He urged the public to remain patient as staff work diligently to resolve the chaos caused by the tech failure.
