SUMMARY: Jones County firefighters are currently monitoring a field in Ellisville, Mississippi, after a small yard fire sparked a nearly 50-acre blaze this afternoon. The Jones County Fire Council, along with four fire departments and the Mississippi Forestry Commission, were called out to the scene. The fire quickly spread due to the wind and dry conditions, endangering surrounding structures and equipment. However, firefighters were able to contain the fire after an hour of battling it.
