Bulldogs sweep on Sophomore Day
SUMMARY: On Sophomore Day, the Mississippi Gulf Coast softball team excelled, sweeping Coahoma with scores of 8-0 and 15-0 at Ross-Smith Field, and both games concluded in five innings due to dominance. All position players and four sophomore pitchers contributed significantly, with no runs allowed by the latter. Jorja Roberson notably hit two home runs in the second game, leading the team with a total of eight homers. The nine-player sophomore class was honored between the games. Other nominees included freshman quarterback Landon Varnes, who threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns, leading a comeback win, and sophomore JP Coulter, who recorded nine receptions for 118 yards and returned three punts for 45 yards.
