Bulldogs back at Ross-Smith Field this week

Region Wrap-Up: Seven Southern Six Teams Look To Run Deeper In State Playoffs
SUMMARY: Only seven teams from the Southern Six are competing for state championships. In Class 7A, Ocean Springs achieved a comeback victory against Northwest Rankin, winning 24-17, and will face defending champion Oak Grove next. Gulfport lost 20-17 to Petal and was eliminated. In 6A, Picayune (10-2) will host George County (7-5) after both teams advanced from the first round. Pascagoula dominated Terry, winning 41-0. In 5A, Gautier edged Natchez 36-30, with quarterback Trey Irving leading the charge. Poplarville narrowly beat Columbia in 4A’s second round and will host McComb next.

Gulfport Falls Short Of Ending One-And-Done Streak As Petal Wins On Late Field Goal
SUMMARY: The Gulfport Admirals’ season ended in the first round of the state playoffs for the fourth consecutive year, losing 20-17 to Petal. After a slow start, Gulfport tied the game with a touchdown from Cooper Crosby, but Petal clinched victory with a 25-yard field goal in the final seconds. Knight, McNair Team Up To Help George County End 17-Year Playoff Drought
SUMMARY: The George County Rebels secured their first playoff victory since 2007 with a 26-22 win over West Jones in the first-round matchup. The Rebels improved to 7-5 and will face Picayune next week, who previously defeated them 27-20.
