Boys & Girls Club employee faces child porn-related charges

SUMMARY: Austin Thompson, a 20-year-old worker at the Boys and Girls Club in Boonville, is now in Lafayette County Jail facing federal charges for distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material. The FBI began investigating after reports of child pornography uploads were received in June and July. Law enforcement linked these uploads to Thompson, who admitted to seeking out child porn and expressed his fear of asking for help. Despite being previously warned about his behavior, he was never arrested before. The Boys and Girls Club stated he underwent a background check and was fired upon learning of the accusations. His bond is set at $10,000.
