SUMMARY: The Bossier City Council discussed an ordinance to amend its charter, aiming to remove term limits, during a heated meeting. Proposed as a compromise by the Charter Commission, it marks the first significant charter change in 20 years. However, community leaders expressed disappointment over the lack of term limits, with resident Cassie Rogers criticizing the council for blocking a petition signed by 3,000 people. The Bossier City Term Limits Coalition previously won a lawsuit to include term limits, but three council members rejected it. The council can vote on all charter amendments at their upcoming meeting on October 22.
