Despite multiple violent incidents, he was released without informing her or placing a GPS monitor on him. Shortly after, he went missing, prompting the woman's father, Lance, to warn her. Lauren, the victim, stopped responding to messages, and her Life 360 tracker was turned off. Her body was later found brutally beaten in her car at a cemetery. Lance condemned the criminal justice system for its failures. The abuser, Rivers, has a criminal history and is currently in jail on a $1 million bond.
