Bond set for Vicksburg man charged in May homicide
SUMMARY: Vicksburg, Miss. (WJTV) – Vicksburg police arrested 58-year-old Bernard Brown in connection to a homicide on Locust Street. Brown was charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon after being arrested on June 6. He appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on June 7 with his bond set at $1,025,000. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on May 28, in the 400 block of Locust Street. The victim, Shandrick Montgomery, 45, was found in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mississippi driver dies after car crashes into two horses
SUMMARY: A fatal crash occurred in Holmes County, Mississippi, on September 26, when a 2005 Dodge Charger struck two horses on Highway 17 around 11:45 p.m. The vehicle overturned, resulting in the death of the driver, 32-year-old Preston Nichelson from Pickens, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
