Bond set for man charged with shooting at MHP trooper
SUMMARY: Hollis Louis Green, 33, was arrested in Adams County, Mississippi, after shooting at a Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) trooper during a chase. Justice Court Judge Audrey Minor set his bond at $1.5 million cash-only. The incident began with a traffic stop on U.S. 61 when Green fled, firing multiple shots at the pursuing trooper. Following the chase, his abandoned vehicle was found, and he was located soon after, armed and arrested without incident. Green faces several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, felony fleeing, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.

SUMMARY: Cristian Mitchel Mondragon Gonzales, 29, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder related to a 2018 homicide on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Following a fight at a party on September 23, 2018, Gonzales pursued the victim, convincing him to go for a ride. He then shot the victim multiple times after they exited the vehicle. The victim was found the next morning. Gonzales faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and is scheduled for sentencing on February 12, 2025. The case was investigated by the FBI, Natchez Trace Parkway police, and Ridgeland police.
