Bond set at $125,000 for ex-Petal teacher charged with sex crimes against children
SUMMARY: A former fifth grade teacher at Pedal Elementary School in Mississippi has been arrested for inappropriate conduct with students. Tyler Shas, who taught math, faces charges of touching a child for lustful purposes and disseminating sexually explicit material to a minor. The investigation began after a parent raised concerns about an inappropriate photo. Police say Shas provided alcohol and marijuana to the teenagers involved. The Pedal School District cooperated with authorities and Shas has resigned. Police are asking parents to report any other potential crimes. Shas was released on bond and the investigation is ongoing.
