Bogue Chitto woman pleads guilty to stabbing Choctaw tribal member to death
A Bogue Chitto woman has pleaded guilty to the murder of a tribal member on the Choctaw Indian Reservation.
On Thursday, 27-year-old Bethany Thomas of the Bogue Chitto Community of the Choctaw Indian Reservation admitted to stabbing the victim — whose identity has not yet been released — with a knife, resulting in his death.
In November 2021, a federal grand jury indicted Thomas on the charge of murder in the second degree.
Now, Thomas has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and is scheduled to be sentenced on August 10. A federal district judge will determine any …

Suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO struggles, shouts while entering courthouse
SUMMARY: Luigi Nicholas Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate, was arrested in Pennsylvania and charged with the murder of Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Mangione, who expressed disdain for corporate greed and the health insurance industry, was found with a gun matching the murder weapon and fraudulent IDs. He initially gave false identification but was recognized at a McDonald’s. Mangione, who wrote a three-page document expressing anti-corporate sentiments, is being extradited to New York.
