Body found near I-75 shooting in Laurel County
SUMMARY: In a late-breaking development in the manhunt for Joseph Couch, who shot at cars on I-75 on September 7, a body was discovered near Exit 49 in Laurel County. Couch injured five people during the shooting, and investigations found his vehicle, a rifle, and ammunition soon after the incident. Although authorities spent days searching the Daniel Boone National Forest, the body was found by a couple hunting in the area, alerted by vultures. While the body has not yet been confirmed as Couch’s, officials are expediting DNA testing to determine its identity. Further updates will follow.
