Body discovered in Mississippi River identified as 21-year-old Tamia Taylor
SUMMARY: The body found in the Mississippi River has been identified as 21-year-old Tamia Taylor, who was last seen on September 9 in downtown Memphis. She was celebrating her birthday on a riverboat cruise and never returned with the boat. The Dock Ellis Foundation, a non-profit that aids in the search for missing women of color, was hoping the autopsy would come back negative. The incident is still under investigation by the Memphis Police Department and the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office. Taylor’s body was discovered on the Arkansas side of the Mississippi River on Saturday.
