Which cars, trucks are stolen most often in Tennessee?
SUMMARY: Vehicle thefts in the U.S. decreased significantly in 2024, with around 850,700 cars stolen, down from over 1 million in 2023. Hyundai models, particularly the Elantra and Sonata, remain frequent targets due to vulnerabilities exploited by thieves since 2020. Anti-theft software upgrades from manufacturers have reduced thefts of these models. Nissans, particularly the Maxima and Altima, are also commonly stolen in Tennessee. Theft rates vary by location, with the highest rates in Washington, D.C., California, New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada. The NICB recommends parking in well-lit areas and taking precautions to avoid becoming a theft victim.

Freezing temperatures affecting TN peach crops
SUMMARY: Freezing temperatures in middle Tennessee, dropping to 27°F, raised concerns about potential damage to this year’s peach crop. At Breeden’s Orchard in Mount Juliet, many peach trees were already in bloom. The owner, Amy Dorfin, and her son, Max, observed minimal damage, with only a 10-15% loss of blossoms, which is similar to what they would normally prune off. However, they remain cautious, as another freeze could impact the crop once the trees are fully in bloom. They are hopeful that the freeze may have naturally thinned the trees, reducing the need for additional pruning.

Cold temperatures made for a frosty Friday morning in Middle Tennessee, and one that’s affected the area’s peach crop.
