SUMMARY: In the upcoming 2023 season, the Hartfield Academy Hawks will be one of three teams in the area to kick off in Week Zero of the M-A-I-S schedule. However, the offseason has been controversial for Hartfield, as they are currently appealing a decision from the M-A-I-S Affairs Committee that banned them from the postseason, suspended two assistant coaches, and imposed a fine, due to an illegal recruiting complaint by Madison Saint Joes. Despite the controversy, Hartfield Academy has a talented football team, winning at least 8 games since 2019 and nearly defeating eventual state champion Jackson Prep.

The Hawks of Hartfield Academy will be taking off a bit early this season. They are a part of week zero of the MAIS football season. Hartfield Academy is shaking off some off-field controversy in order to avenge a tough loss in the state semifinals. Despite the early start the Hawks feel ready to go.
