In contrast, others, such as Venus Flytraps and certain aquatic plants within the Utricularia genus, utilize active traps. Utricularia, or bladderworts, are particularly fascinating due to their sophisticated underwater bladder traps that create negative pressure to rapidly suck in prey lured by sugary substances. These plants play significant roles in their ecosystems, impacting small aquatic and soil creatures, while exhibiting a hidden, yet impactful, drama beneath the surface.
