Black delivery driver loses FedEx job, more than a year after he said white men attacked him

SUMMARY: A Black FedEx delivery driver, D’Monterrio Gibson, who was shot at and chased by two white men in Mississippi in 2022, has been fired from his job. Gibson received an email from FedEx informing him of his termination. FedEx confirmed that Gibson is no longer employed but did not provide further details. Gibson had been on worker’s compensation leave since he reported the attack and has been dealing with anxiety and trouble sleeping since then. The father and son charged in the attack, Brandon Case and Gregory Case, had a mistrial declared due to police errors. A new trial is expected to be scheduled.
