SUMMARY: Atlanta emergency officials warn residents to prepare for a potential haze and chlorine exposure starting tomorrow due to a fire at a chemical plant in Conor’s that released toxic smoke. Thousands have reported symptoms like irritated eyes, skin reactions, and breathing difficulties. A local doctor emphasizes the long-term health risks, urging those experiencing symptoms to seek medical attention and document their conditions. Biolab, the plant operator, has expressed regret and is engaging with local representatives to provide support. A petition to shut down the plant has gained over 5,500 signatures. A shelter-in-place order is currently in effect until Friday morning.

Atlanta officials say the smoke from the Rockdale County BioLab chemical fire appears to be headed their way. FOX 5 Atlanta spoke with a medical professional who explained how exposure to the chemical reaction may impact people long-term.
