Biloxi, Gulfport officials prepared for heavy traffic during spring break weekend

SUMMARY: Large crowds are expected for Mississippi’s Black Spring Break this weekend, leading to heavy traffic on Highway 90. The city has implemented a traffic plan, including cones along the highway from Iberville to De Bees Road. If needed, the inside lanes of 90 may be closed to all but emergency vehicles. Gulfport police are also prepared with a similar plan, including reduced lanes on their side of Highway 90. Traffic may also be diverted north on Cowan to I-10. The event is expected to last through Sunday. Plan accordingly for potential delays.

Heavier traffic can be expected along the beach in Biloxi and Gulfport this weekend during spring break.
