Bikers United for Children Food Run is Saturday, June 8

SUMMARY: On today's “Midday,” special guests Miss Brandy Ray from Wesley House and James Randle from Bikers United for Children joined us. They discussed Wesley House, a Meridian nonprofit with several programs, and highlighted the upcoming Bikers United food run to support Wesley House's food pantry. The run, now in its second year, involves participants visiting partnered grocery stores to purchase items from a designated list, benefitting local families and children. Participants can start at United Methodist Church and visit locations including Big G Supermarket, Piggly Wiggly, and Cash Saver. By spending $25, participants can enter a drawing. The event culminates on Saturday with registration at 10 AM.

USA Track and Field Junior Olympics coming to Jackson

SUMMARY: This summer, in addition to the Paris Olympics, Jackson, USA, will host the Southeast Region Junior Olympics for Track and Field starting Thursday, July 4th. Competitors aged 18 and under from Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi will vie for qualification to the national meet at Texas A&M later this summer. Events will take place at Hughes Field and Millsaps College, bringing significant economic benefits and inspiring local youth. Organizers seek to make this an annual event with state support, promoting track and field in Mississippi. A parade featuring athletes from the four states will be held on Saturday morning.
