SUMMARY: Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, following his re-election, announced that six Kentuckians died from weather-related incidents between January 5 and January 11. The fatalities, confirmed by state officials, included cases of “overexertion followed by cardiac arrest” while shoveling snow and ice. Beshear warned that heavy snowfall can lead to injuries and heart attacks, urging residents to take breaks. He also cautioned that arctic air would bring dangerously low temperatures from January 19 to 22, with wind chills potentially dropping below zero.
