Baldwin County crews head to hurricane damage in Florida, Georgia
SUMMARY: Debbie Williams reports from Summerdale on recovery efforts following Hurricane Helen, which left millions without electricity. Utility crews from Daphne, Foley, and Summerdale are heading to the hardest-hit areas to assist in restoration. Fourteen linemen and two engineers from Daphne and Foley are en route to Tallahassee, where thousands are without power. Additionally, 22 linemen and support staff will help restore electricity in Georgia, serving seven counties. Although the storm’s winds and rain have subsided, challenges remain as the crews assess damage, prepare for repairs, and aim to jumpstart the recovery efforts over the next week.
Even before the cone of uncertainty became more certain, the call for help went out to Baldwin County utility companies.
