Baby bottle fundraiser benefits Corinth medical center

SUMMARY: From now until Father’s Day, there is an annual fundraiser for Oasis Medical Center in Boonville. John Kev is the organizer who came up with the idea of using baby bottles and spare change to raise funds for the center, which provides pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and medical consulting. Kev started the fundraiser in his church and expanded it to the whole county in 2016. Anyone can participate by filling a baby bottle with loose change or roughly $25 in denominations. The fundraiser ends on Father’s Day, and Kev encourages the community to get involved to this important resource.

SUMMARY: Approximately 400 athletes are participating in the Special Olympics Mississippi Fall at Camp Shelby. The Opening Ceremonies included a parade of athletes and a speech by Senator Roger Wicker. Tomorrow’s competitions will feature such as softball, croquet, horseshoes, and soccer skills. Attendees can enjoy snow cones, coffee trucks, and a petting zoo, along with screenings available in large tents. The aims to comprehensive for the athletes.
