Authorities searching for escaped Meridian inmate
SUMMARY: Police in Mississippi are on the hunt for Ryan Young, a 28-year-old inmate who escaped the Mississippi Department of Corrections early Wednesday. Previously serving 40 years for various crimes including burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon, Young successfully fled for the second time; his first escape took place in September 2017. Described as 5’9” and 190 pounds, he was last seen in a yellow jumpsuit while being taken to court. Authorities utilized a drone in their search around 7th Street and 35th Avenue in Meridian. Another inmate who had escaped with Young was recaptured shortly after.

SUMMARY: The 28th annual Double Decker Arts Festival in Oxford will be held on April 25-26, featuring Mississippi cuisine, live music, and art. SUMMARY: Terrell Buckley, a Pascagoula native and College Football Hall of Famer, has been hired as the new head coach at Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). A former Super Bowl-winning defensive back, Buckley brings 18 years of coaching experience, including stints at Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and with the XFL’s Orlando Guardians. He replaces Kendrick Wade, who was let go after a 1-11 season. Buckley, known for his ball-hawking skills as a player, is committed to building a culture of hard work and accountability at MVSU, with the goal of turning around the Delta Devils’ football program.
