SUMMARY: Author Nadia Solomon held a book signing event in Jackson this evening at the Two Mississippi Museums for her new book, “A Voice of Hope: The Merly Evers Williams Story.” This book is the first picture book biography of civil rights activist Merly Evers Williams. Solomon’s idea for the book originated in 2005 during a press conference where she noted the personal photos Williams had brought. After inquiring about them, Solomon engaged in a meaningful conversation about Williams’ life and passion. Nearly 19 years later, this book celebrates their connection and can be purchased at the museums.
