Austin teen shot to death by another teen; family seeking justice | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Andrea Colan grapples with the devastating loss of her 16-year-old son, Madison, who was shot while en route to confront a bully. Targeted for his sexuality, Madison sought to find himself through art and self-expression. Tragically, he never had the chance to defend himself, as he arrived at the Northgate Apartments and was fatally shot. The alleged shooter, a 16-year-old with a history of violent crime and currently on probation, has been charged with first-degree murder. Madison’s family mourns their loss, demanding accountability and expressing disbelief that the suspect was allowed to remain free despite prior offenses.

A family is seeking justice after the shooting death of a 16-year-old in North Austin last month. The suspect, also 16, has a criminal history and is now facing a first-degree murder charge.

Trump’s latest round of tariffs have taken effect — and more retaliation is coming. What we know
SUMMARY: President Donald Trump has initiated extensive tariffs against nearly all U.S. trading partners, with a new wave of tariffs taking effect recently, including a minimum 10% rate. These “reciprocal” tariffs apply severe rates up to 50%, particularly affecting smaller economies. China is set to counter with an 84% tariff on American goods, responding to Trump’s escalated measures. The European Union also approved retaliatory tariffs on $23 billion worth of products. Existing tariffs include 25% on steel and aluminum, with potential for more product-specific taxes. Economic experts warn these tariffs will raise consumer prices amid ongoing trade tensions.
