Austin ISD teacher fired after pinning child to wall | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: On September 10, Riley Elementary School teacher Lise Alvarado was charged with unlawful restraint after forcibly pinning a six-year-old student against a wall using his body weight. The incident was reported by the child to their parent, leading to a police report and investigation. Alvarado admitted to the act, which was recorded on a hallway camera. He was arrested on October 1 and released on a $7,500 bond. Austin ISD notified parents of his arrest and subsequent firing, emphasizing campus safety. Legal experts suggest Alvarado could face probation rather than incarceration due to the nature of the charge and his lack of a criminal record.
