Attorneys for ‘Goon Squad’ victims respond to DOJ investigation
SUMMARY: Megan Walker and Shabazz are representing numerous victims in a forthcoming $400 million lawsuit against Rankin County sheriff’s deputies, including Eddie Parker and Michael Jenkins, who suffered abuse from the “Goon Squad.” Despite a federal judge refusing to dismiss Sheriff Brian Bailey from the lawsuit, Shabazz argues that true justice would be Bailey’s censure, highlighting the severity of the crimes committed by his deputies. Bailey, re-elected for another four-year term in November 2023, has refused to resign. Shabazz is encouraging any victims, witnesses, or former officers from the department to come forward to his office and speak with him.
