Aspiring Allen firefighter working to make dream come true after suffering heart attack
SUMMARY: Jacob Perez, a 19-year-old aspiring firefighter, is recovering after nearly dying from a cardiac arrest in May. While attending the Allen Fire Department’s citizen academy, Perez collapsed due to an aortic aneurysm, and his heart stopped for 26 minutes. After a valve transplant from a pig’s heart, he spent months in rehab, regaining strength and running for the first time. His experience has only strengthened his desire to become a firefighter. Perez now shares his story to inspire others, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and persevere through challenges. He’s meeting with firefighters to continue his path to becoming a firefighter.

Man arrested moments after stabbing woman he followed on METRO bus
SUMMARY: Houston Police report that a man followed a woman off a Metro Bus, held her at knife point, and stabbed her multiple times. She was rushed to the hospital for surgery, with her condition currently unknown. This attack occurred hours after he allegedly threatened another victim with a gun, although that victim was unharmed.
