Asbury University sees record enrollment

UK HealthCare Community Connection: 11/19/24
SUMMARY: Dr. Timothy Mullet from the UK Marquee Cancer Center discusses lung cancer awareness during November, highlighting that lung cancer is Kentucky’s leading cancer killer, claiming around 4,500 lives annually. Despite the state’s high incidence rates, tobacco use reduction has led to declining lung cancer rates and mortality. The Marquee Cancer Center promotes early screening for eligible individuals aged 50-80 with significant tobacco exposure, emphasizing the effectiveness of early detection through low-dose CAT scans. As an NCI-designated program, the center collaborates with 20 hospitals across Kentucky to enhance cancer care quality and improve community health outcomes.
